How to Pray
5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. This is a vital aspect of how to pray effectively.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Instead, seek spiritual guidance in your prayers.
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. This understanding also aligns with the principles found in the Lord's Prayer. Matthew 6:5-8
Pray to the Father in secret.

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. This is a beautiful example of how to pray, offering spiritual guidance in our communication with the Divine. 10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. This prayer is often referred to as the Lord's Prayer, found in Matthew 6:9-13.

The Vine and the Branches
Father God, boldly and humbly we come before your throne of grace, seeking your face in everything we say and do. We know that you are the Vine and we are the branches; apart from you, we can do nothing. In our prayer, we lift our hearts and hands in praise, for you are worthy to be praised. We praise you for your excellent greatness and infinite wisdom, trusting in them as we lay our burdens at your feet. Lord, we earnestly seek spiritual guidance and pray that you will order our steps, direct our paths, and seal in our hearts our instructions for the day. Keep us throughout the day. As we learn how to pray, let us not toil and struggle to gather our provision, but help us continually rest in you and reside in your presence, for we know that in your presence is the fullness of joy. We embrace the essence of the Lord's Prayer in our hearts. Amen.
